Introduction

The Language Club Limited ("The Language Club", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We are committed to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2024.

Our Business

The Language Club Limited is a professional translation, localisation, and multilingual marketing agency registered in England and Wales (Company Registration No. 08824303), with its registered office at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX.

We provide language services to businesses across the UK and internationally, including professional translation, website and software localisation, transcreation, video subtitling and dubbing, and multilingual marketing services across 120+ languages. We also operate Lead Club, a sales intelligence platform.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain consists primarily of:

• Freelance and contracted professional translators, editors, and proofreaders
• Voice artists and audio production studios
• Desktop publishing and graphics professionals
• Technology and software service providers
• Professional services providers (legal, accounting, IT)

The majority of our supply chain comprises qualified linguistic professionals operating as independent contractors or through their own registered businesses. We have assessed this supply chain as lower risk in relation to modern slavery given the skilled and specialist nature of the work involved.

Our Policies

We maintain the following policies that support our commitment to combating modern slavery:

• Supplier Code of Conduct: All suppliers and contractors are required to confirm they operate in accordance with applicable employment laws and do not engage in or facilitate modern slavery or human trafficking.
• Recruitment Policy: We recruit employees and contractors through reputable channels and conduct appropriate checks, including the right to work in the UK for all staff.
• Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage anyone who has concerns about modern slavery in our business or supply chain to report them without fear of retaliation.

Due Diligence

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of modern slavery, we:

• Verify the identity and right to work of all employees and contracted staff
• Require suppliers to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and equivalent legislation
• Review our supply chain relationships on an ongoing basis to identify any potential risk areas
• Maintain open and transparent payment terms that ensure contractors and suppliers receive fair and timely remuneration

Risk Assessment

We have assessed the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chain as low, for the following reasons:

• We operate exclusively in the UK and with contractors primarily based in higher-income, regulated jurisdictions
• Our services are knowledge-based and rely on highly skilled professional linguists
• We do not operate in sectors or geographies typically associated with elevated modern slavery risk
• All contractors are paid above market rate for their specialist skills

Training and Awareness

We are committed to ensuring all staff who are involved in procurement or supply chain management are aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Training and awareness is provided through induction processes and periodic review of this policy.
